1. Anagrams 

Price: Free

Best for: Lovers of word games 

One of our top minute to win it games for office team building is Anagrams. This game is great because it’s fun and requires quick thinking.

To play, select a word or phrase and have your teammates reshuffle the letters to create new anagrams. 

For example, the phrase ‘under the weather’ has at least 200 anagram words. These include ‘ethernet’, ‘heated’, ‘returned’, and ‘threatened’. Set a timer for 60 seconds, and whichever player has the most anagrams at the end wins.  

2. Chopped cereal

Price: $10-15

Best for: A quick office competition 

This exciting game is good practice for hand-eye coordination, and only requires a few items: two bowls, a pair of chopsticks, and cereal. 

To play, 

  • Fill the first bowl with some cereal and leave the second bowl empty.
  • Set a 60-second timer for each player. 
  • Participants play by using the pair of chopsticks to move the cereal pieces from the first bowl to the empty bowl. 
  • The player that moved the most cereal pieces in 60 seconds is the winner. 

3. Candy toss

Price: $5-10

Best for: Simple and sweet team games

To play, 

  • Divide your teammates into pairs. 
  • Give one person a plastic cup, and the other a bowl filled with miniature candy, like M&Ms or Smarties. 
  • Have each pair stand at least 8 feet apart. 
  • The goal of the game is to see how many candy pieces a player can successfully toss into the cup held by their partner. 
  • Set and one-minute timer, and whichever pair is able to collect the most candy pieces wins. 

But the best part of this game? Everyone gets to enjoy the tasty candy in the end.

4. Counting on it

Price: Free

Best for: Fostering teamwork 

To play, divide your teammates into smaller groups and put the groups in breakout rooms. The goal is for groups to count to the highest number that they can before the 60-second timer is up. 

A few rules:

  • The group must count in ones, i.e., 1, 2, 3, 4….
  • Only one player can count at a time, and no one can count two times in a row.
  • If two players speak at the same time, the group must start their count over.

The group that counts to the highest number at the end of the timer wins. 

This game helps teammates exercise their listening and communication skills. It can also help you discover people with leadership qualities - those who are able to properly organize their groups.

5. Pack attack

Price: Free

Best for: Small teams 

Pack attack is like a scavenger hunt on steroids, so you know it’ll make for a fun time. For this game, you’ll need to prepare a list of items that your teammates can easily find around their homes. Some items you could add to your list are:

  • Car keys
  • Lotion
  • Passport
  • Pasta
  • A book 
  • Toilet paper 

Once you’ve got your list, gather your team in a virtual meeting. Set the scene by letting players know that they’re in the middle of an emergency and only have a minute to gather as many items as they can. Then display your list by sharing your screen and start the 60-second timer. The player that gathers the most objects before the timer is up wins.
